Mielen Melodiat

CDM designed the space very successfully. We wanted adaptable spaces that could host things like employee recreation days, work welfare events, meetings and mindfulness training. CDM listened to our wishes and created a space with a unique atmosphere that words are not enough to describe. You have to be here to experience it. In the Mielen Melodiat house, real feelings can be expressed.

Mari Ravattinen, CEO
Mielen Melodiat Oy

Mielen Melodiat Talo (“house of mind melodies”) is a brick building over 100 years old on the perimeter of Lappeenranta fortress, on the shores of Lake Saimaa. The premises for the design of these 200 square metres was a home for the Mielen Melodiat work life training services and respect for the building’s heritage. In addition, the client wanted to weave the Mielen Melodiat creative director and singer Lauri Tähkä’s artistic history, golden discs and instruments into the interior design. They wanted to make the house exude the ‘from presence to creativity’ brand message, provide calm and stimulate the mind, as well as be a site for genuine, mindful encounters.

CDM was responsible for the furniture, lighting, interior and textile design of the Mielen Melodiat house. Original furniture was designed for the adaptable spaces to support the desired atmosphere and functionality. The comprehensive project management consisted of budgeting, furniture tendering, procurement and scheduling all the way up to the finishing touches.
